Mary Dupree

Mary DuPree recently retired as Professor of Musicology at the University of Idaho. Her research is in 19th and 20th century American music, including historiography, criticism, and the community band movement in the West. She has published articles in American Music, the Journal of Musicology, College Music Symposium, The Research Chronicle, American Vistas, and The George Gershwin Reader, and edited Musical Americans: A Biographical Dictionary 1918-1926. Professor DuPree is the founding director of the Auditorium Chamber Music Series, and is the recipient of an Idaho Governor’s Award in the Arts and the Moscow Idaho Mayor’s Award in the Arts. She also received several major teaching awards during her tenure at the University of Idaho.
