Charles Mueller is an assistant professor of music history at Western Oregon University. He holds a M.A. in music education from Portland State University and a PhD in historical musicology from Florida State University. His writings on popular music have been published in Volume: La revue des musiques populaires, Gothic Studies, and by Ashgate, and Cambridge University Press. His primary research interests include popular music and the Cold War, music in youth subcultures, and popular music and gender. He is currently working on a book that examines the career and music of Jeff Beck.
