Presenter: Dr. Emily Martin-Moberly (Bucknell University)

University voice students, like collegiate athletes, require specific institutional procedures and protocols regarding the maintenance of vocal health and the treatment of voice injury. While a handful of organizations provide basic vocal health guidelines for institutions, many schools have not developed a protocol whereby the appropriate proactive strategies and reactive responses for voice majors required of an undergraduate music department are provided. Through a national study conducted last spring, the current availability of proactive and reactive protocols in selected voice programs was measured. This session presents the results of this survey with the intention to guide specific suggestions for vocal proactive and reactive development in the university voice program.
