Roger E. Foltz

Roger Foltz, NCTM, has been professor of music at the University of Nebraska at Omaha for since 1978.  Previously, he was on the faculties at Temple University and the University of Minnesota. At Nebraska, he has served as department chair and assistant dean. He received his BM degree in piano performance from Wichita State University, Master of Music in Composition and PhD in Music Theory at the University of Texas.  Foltz has co-authored two theory textbooks and several dozen articles on various aspects of music theory and technology. He has served as cofounder and president of The College Music Society (CMS) Great Plains Chapter, CMS Treasurer as well as the president of the Nebraska Music Teachers Association. In addition to teaching music theory and composition he is currently director of international music studies at Nebraska. For his years of work in the field of global music and exchanges, Foltz was recognized in 2007 with the Andersen-Gouttierre Award for enhancing international awareness.
