Kathleen Lamkin

Kathleen Lamkin, Professor of Music History at the University of La Verne, La Verne, California, has presented lectures on Haydn’s late masses and oratorios as faculty in musicology with the Classical Music Festival (Eisenstädter Sommerakademie), Eisenstadt, Austria. Co-founder of the Haydn Society of California, she was a charter member of the Haydn Society of North America. Her book Esterházy Musicians from 1790-1809 Considered from New Sources in the Castle Forchtenstein Archives was published in 2007 as Volume 6 of the Eisenstädter Haydn Berichte. Following several lectures and articles on this archival research, she was interviewed by BBC radio. A grant recipient from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Mellon Foundation, and the Internationale Joseph Haydn Privat Stiftung, she has served as President of The College Music Society, has been appointed as Director of the BCA Study Abroad Program at Philipps Universität, Marburg, Germany and has worked with the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.
