Dr. Peter Folliard is a musician, educator, public speaker, record producer, and sought-after guest conductor. He is currently the Dean of Augustana University's School of Music (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), where he leads a faculty of over 40 with 333 music students.

Folliard received his undergraduate degrees in music education and instrumental performance from the University of North Texas, master's degrees in instrumental performance and wind conducting from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, and Doctor of Musical Arts degree in orchestral conducting from the Eastman School of Music.

Folliard has held conducting position with the United States Air Force Bands in Washington, D.C., serving as conductor of the Air Force String Orchestra and The Singing Sergeants. He also served as the associate conductor with the Concert Band and Ceremonial Brass and producer of the organization's recording projects.

While working towards his doctorate at the Eastman School of Music, Folliard held the position of Conducting Fellow with the Rochester Philharmonic. He then served as a visiting assistant professor at the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York at Potsdam before accepting his current appointment as Dean and Director of Orchestras at Augustana University. At Augustana University, Folliard has established local, regional, national, and international partnerships to support the growth of the school and student success. He also has launched a new major in Multimedia Entrepreneurship, combining music, business, and multimedia software courses with industry-recognized certifications.
