Carolyn Calloway-Thomas is Chair of the African American and African Diaspora Studies at Indiana University. She studies intercultural communication, African American communication, intersections between empathy and conflict, and pedagogy and civic engagement and is currently the President of the World Communication Association. She has served in many leadership positions.
